Christ gave Himself to a shameful, agonizing death, showing His great travail of soul to save the perishing. Christ is able, Christ is willing, yes, Christ is longing to save all who will come unto Him! Talk to souls in peril and have them behold Jesus upon the cross, dying that He may pardon them from their guilt. Appeal to the sinner in deepest earnestness. With your heart overflowing with the tender, compassionate love of Christ, speak to them of grace, hope, and love. Let not one harsh note be heard from the one who is trying to win the soul. Having first consecrated your own soul to God, call the sinner to look and live. Let your heart be broken as you look upon the Intercessor in heaven. Then, softened and subdued by the love of Christ, you may address repentant sinners as one who has realized the power of God's redeeming love.

Pray with these souls, by faith bringing them to the foot of the cross. Carrying their hearts with your heart,  fix the eyes of faith where you continue to look: upon Jesus the Sin Bearer. Get them to look away from their poor, sinful selves to the Saviour, and the victory is won. They must behold for themselves the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. As the Sun of Righteousness sheds His bright beams into the sinner's hearts, they will see Christ: the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The strong tide of redeeming love pours into the parched and thirsty soul, and the sinner is saved unto God.

Christ crucified—talk it, pray it, sing it; it will break and win the hearts of men. The cross is the power and wisdom of God in gathering souls for His kingdom. Formally prepared phrases and the presentation of argumentative subjects is productive of little good without love, for the existence of the love of God in the hearts of His workers will be recognized by those for whom they labor. Souls are thirsting for the waters of life. When you reveal the love of Christ to them, you may lead the hungering, thirsting ones to Jesus, and He will give them to drink of the living water, springing up into everlasting life.
